Kite for ChatGPT
Use Kite from inside ChatGPT. Ask ChatGPT what Kite is working on, how your site is doing, or to make a change to your website. ChatGPT talks to your Kite account for you.
Kite for ChatGPT is new, and we're adding to it. If ChatGPT says your team isn't available, open Chat with us in Kite and we'll help.
Before you start
- You need a Kite account. If you don't have one, sign up at kite.ai first.
- ChatGPT only sees the Kite teams you belong to, and can only do what you can do in Kite.
Connect Kite
- In ChatGPT, open the app directory and search for Kite. Look for the app from Appsmith, Inc., described as "Your AI marketing teammate."
- Select the app and connect it.
- ChatGPT opens Kite's sign-in page. Sign in with the account you use for Kite and allow access. You don't share your password with ChatGPT.
- Ask ChatGPT something like "What is Kite working on for my team?" to check it works.
If you're on more than one Kite team, ChatGPT asks which team you mean.
If you see This sign-in isn't linked to a Kite account, you signed in with a different account than the one you use for Kite. Sign up for Kite or sign in with your Kite account, then reconnect.
What you can ask
Check on Kite's work
- "What is Kite working on?"
- "Is the pricing page change done yet?"
- "Show me what Kite delivered for the competitor research."
Your website
- "How many visitors did our site get this week?" ChatGPT reads visitors, page views, top pages, where visitors came from, and countries, depending on your plan.
- "What's the latest site health scan say?"
- "What does Kite recommend for showing up in AI answers?"
- "Show me the saved versions of the site."
Make and ship changes
- "Ask Kite to change the homepage headline to …" Kite takes the request like any other, and it uses credits.
- "Merge that draft." / "Publish the site." ChatGPT shows you exactly what will change and asks you to confirm before it does anything.
How changes work
- Kite does the work, not ChatGPT. A change request starts a normal Kite task. It usually takes a few minutes. Ask ChatGPT to check on it, or open the Kite link it gives you.
- Design and code changes start as a draft. Nothing goes live until you merge and publish.
- Text and content edits may go live right away, just as they do when you ask Kite in Slack.
- ChatGPT always asks before requesting, merging, or publishing anything.
- If Kite has a question for you, ChatGPT gives you a link to answer it in Kite.
What you can't do from ChatGPT
Use Slack or the browser workspace for these:
- Have an open-ended conversation with Kite or answer Kite's questions
- Restore an earlier version of your site (ChatGPT can only list versions)
- Run A/B experiments
- Start a new site health scan
- Set up or run workflows
- Publish a site Kite doesn't host, such as a Wix or Webflow site
Results of work you start from ChatGPT don't appear in Slack. You'll find them in ChatGPT when you ask, and on the Tasks page in Kite.
Limits
- You can request up to 20 changes, merges, or publishes an hour.
- If you send the same request twice within 10 minutes, Kite uses the task it already started instead of starting another.
