What Kite Posts in Slack
Kite posts in two situations: when you ask it something, and when it has found something worth doing. This page describes the kinds of posts to expect so your team knows what each one is asking of you.
Offers of work
When Kite first joins a channel it reads your company's website and replies with one or two offers of work it can start on right away. Reply to accept one and Kite begins. Reply with something else and it does that instead.
Digests
Every hour Kite scans the Slack channels it is in for new messages from your team and matches them against your active initiatives. When it finds a move worth making it posts a digest in its home channel, at most three a day. A digest is Kite saying "here is what I noticed and here is what I would do next."
Proposed initiatives
When Kite proposes a larger piece of work, it posts it as an initiative with an Approve button. Clicking Approve tells Kite to break the initiative into tasks and start. See Initiatives, reports, and workflows.
Draft cards and results
When Kite finishes a task it posts the result in the thread where the work was asked for. Website work arrives as a card with a Preview button (see the draft) and a Review button (open the editor, where you merge and publish). Research, copy, lists, and plans arrive in the thread itself or as a hosted report.
Report announcements
When Kite finishes a Growth Grader report for a team that signed up on the website, it announces the report in the home channel. See Research and growth plans.

Mention Kite or send it a direct message and it replies in a thread. See Asking Kite to do something.
Which channels Kite uses
Kite works in every channel you invite it to. Its home channel is the first one your team engaged it in; digests and report announcements land there. For each channel your team can set a reply mode: follow threads automatically (the default), respond only when tagged, or retired.
Kite moves at the speed of your replies. Put it in a channel people check daily.
