Research and Growth Plans

Kite's work rests on research. Ask it to look at a competitor, a keyword, a customer segment, or your own site, and it comes back with evidence and a recommended move. Larger plans live on the initiatives board.

Research you can ask for

  • Competitor research. How a competitor positions itself, what it charges, where it shows up, and where you can beat it.
  • Keyword and search demand research. What your prospects search for and which pages could win those searches.
  • Customer research. Who buys, what they say, and what they are trying to get done.
  • Website audits. Where your own site is weak on positioning, speed, conversion, or discoverability.
  • AI visibility. How AI answer engines currently describe your company and your category, and where you are missing.

Every recommendation comes with the evidence behind it: the competitor page Kite read, the search volumes it found, the thread it spotted. Kite finds what needs doing. You see why.

The Growth Grader report

Growth Grader takes a company domain and grades it against a 138-point checklist covering positioning, search demand, AI visibility, conversion, onboarding, reviews, unit economics, paid and outbound, owned audience, and technical blockers. Running it from inside Kite needs a signed-in team member and uses credits. For teams that sign up on the website, Kite announces the finished report in the home Slack channel. See Tools on kite.ai.

Initiatives: research turned into a plan

An initiative is a goal with tasks under it, for example "Win the comparison searches against Acme" or "Launch the clinic-network tier." Kite proposes initiatives in Slack with an Approve button; click it and Kite breaks the initiative into tasks and starts. You can also create initiatives yourself on the initiatives board. Kite's hourly scan of your team's Slack messages is matched against active initiatives, which is how it spots the next move and posts a digest. See Initiatives, reports, and workflows.

Correcting Kite's research

If Kite has something wrong about your business, say so in the thread. Kite updates its understanding, and every plan that builds on it gets better. Early corrections save credits later.
