Initiatives, Reports, and Workflows

Beyond individual tasks, Kite organises its work into initiatives, delivers longer results as hosted reports and dashboards, runs workflows on a schedule or a trigger, and can be extended with custom agents and skills. This page introduces each.

Initiatives

An initiative is a goal with tasks under it. Kite proposes initiatives in Slack with an Approve button; click it and Kite breaks the initiative into tasks and starts. You can also create and track initiatives on the initiatives board in your browser workspace. Kite's hourly scan of your team's Slack messages is matched against active initiatives, which is how it finds the next move and posts a digest.

Reports and dashboards

When a result is too large for a Slack thread, Kite delivers it as a hosted report or dashboard and posts the link. Reports can be pinned from Slack so they stay easy to find.

Workflows

A workflow is a piece of work Kite runs on its own, either on a schedule (a weekly conversion check, a monthly competitor sweep) or when a webhook fires (a release goes out, a form is submitted). Workflows are how you turn a one-off request into something that keeps happening.

Custom agents and skills

Teams can give Kite custom agents and skills for work specific to their business. This is an advanced feature; ask Kite in Slack how to set one up.
